RV FEATURE
WOOD VS MODERN FINISH
Modern interior finishes seem to be all the go
these days, with wooden interiors relegated
to history. However, wood still appeals to the
retiree market. Ultimately, you’ll be driven
by the availability of options from your RV
manufacturer.
For offroad travel, its best to avoid high gloss
finishes. They may look great in the showroom
but they show scratches and fingerprints more
readily. Instead, a matte or textured finish is a
much better option.
COLOUR POPS
Splashes of colour add vibrance to an
otherwise plain or dull interior. Patterns can
help hide spills. I've just re-done our display
camper trailers and hybrids in our showroom,
and it all started with a cushion I found.
Originally, I went with red seats to contrast
with the white walls and black benches. That’s
when I found a red and grey wash cushion.
I also wanted to get away from the old look of
black and white stripes. I felt it took focus away
from the van itself and made people look at the
bed. So I went neutral, with coloured cushions.
I love it! A grey doona in the white van, and

a white doona in the grey campers — it all
comes together well without detracting from
the van.

www.houzz.com.au for current trends. It’s one
of my favourite websites.
Well, those are my thoughts on choosing
your interior colours. If you can’t stoush it
out by yourself, ask a sales assistant from your
RV manufacturer to assist. At the end of the
day, it’s your decision, so go you’re your gut
and choose something from your favourite
colour range.
