RV FEATURE
The dinette added another
useful element, providing an
area to eat indoors when the weather
or insects were less than hospitable.
It also worked well for entertaining guests
at happy hour or as a work desk for our
laptop computers.
DESTINATIONS
Will it affect where you can go? Well, that
depends on the types of trips you do. If you
like touring the Victorian High Country, in
particular skinny tracks barely the width of
the car, then clearly it will. Or if your offroad
explorations involve ducking under branches,
weaving through tight scrubland or technical
terrain requiring plenty of wheel travel, those
extra kilos may prove more of a challenge.
However, if you prefer the mainstream
touring routes such as the
Gibb River Road or back road
national parks, then it may have
little impact.
By and large, the upgrade to a small van
or hybrid from a camper trailer poses little
challenge, at least from our own experience.
While size, weight and cost are the biggest
differences, the extra comforts and ease
of use easily offset any barriers to entry.
