The Bailey Coastal is an option for owners
of vehicles with 'lesser' towing capacities.
LITTLE RIG WANTED
What happen to the good old basic caravan?
Do we need all those mod-cons of today when
we are trying to get away from it all?
I’m hoping you can point me in the right
direction. I am in the market for a pop-top
caravan, around 16-18ft (ya, I’m showing my
age), can sleep two adults (forget the kids,
that’s what getting away is all about), and I can
tow it legally.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Sante Fe, which limits
me to a maximum of 2000kg, with a ball weight
of 150kg. There is not much out there. Any
suggestions? I would like to buy new van.

G’day Tom, I know how you feel: sometimes
it seems that vans are just getting heavier
and heavier.
The first manufacturer that came to mind
was Bailey Australia with its lightweight
Coastal range. The ball weight and ATM
should suit your vehicle.
Jurgens has a couple of options that should
suit, too. And why not get to the next caravan
show in your area? There really is something
for all needs and tow vehicles (unless your
car is a Hyundai Getz, in which case get a
tent). – Ed
