An Aeroplus aerofoil – these are not gimmicks.
AEROFOILED NO PRESSURE
THE MYTH: THE MYTH:
Aerofoils that you can fit to the 4WD to reduce
drag when towing are a fancy gimmick.

FALSE
I recently had the
opportunity to test out
the Stealth deflector. I honestly didn’t think it was
going to make much difference but I was wrong.
Not long into the trip, it was very noticeable that
we were rolling along, rather than ‘pushing’ along.
When I used to see a semi trailer coming, I would
move over as the wind drag would give the caravan
a little wobble. But with the wind deflector on,
I discovered that when passing a truck, the van
didn’t move at all.
And the best part – because who doesn’t like
saving money? – I got an extra 100km out of a
tank of juice. They’re no gimmick. I would not tow
a van again without one.

The best way to ascertain correct tyre pressures
is to measure them when the tyres are cold and
again when hot. An increase of 4-6psi usually
indicates correct pressures.
TRUE
check
Check your tyre pressures
when the car hasn’t been
driven for several hours (the air in your tyres will
be ‘cold’). Then, drive as you would normally for
the terrain you are on. After an hour, pull over and
check the tyre pressures again. If they have gone
up by 4-6psi, you are bang on the money with
the correct tyre pressure for your given speed,
weight and terrain.
