RV FEATURE
WiTi overcomes this by measuring the vehicle’s
angle of descent, applying graduated braking
force accordingly.
A dial to adjust gain or to manually apply braking
is mounted to the dash and plugs directly to the
vehicle’s control module.
POWER SUPPLY
Any trailer fitted with the WiTi system will require
its own power supply – i.e., a 12V deep-cycle
house battery.
While WiTi sends the typical seven or 12-pin plug
to the big caravan park in the sky, that doesn’t
necessarily equate to no wiring between tow
vehicle and van. Obviously, should you want to
charge your van’s battery off the vehicle – as
most do – or power your van’s three-way fridge,
you’ll need an Anderson plug connection.
But WiTi is truly a clever system. Beyond that, it
solves one of caravanning’s great hassles, that of
poor trailer-plug connections. This system would
be well worth the investment.
Oh, did I mention that the system has impressive
range? In fact, with the control modules 50m or
more apart, it will still work. Technology. It never
ceases to impress.
