WORDS AND IMAGES: FOUR HANDS IN A TIN CAN
WHEN YOU’RE ON THE ROAD FULL TIME, DISASTER
CAN STRIKE AT ANY TIME, AS THE CREW FROM FOUR

from travelling to see the sites, to getting away
from the rat race and the stress of everyday life.
Unfortunately, things can and do go wrong on
the road, and these things can seem magnified
because you are living in a moving tiny house
away from your support networks.
These incidents can make or break a trip away
and they certainly turn into a yarn that’s shared
around the campfire.
Here, we share a few of the disasters that we, and
others, have had on the road…

UP THE GARDEN PATH
Yes, our navigation system in our 200 Series
either really dislikes us, or craves more adventure
than we do. We’re still trying to call that one. We

to drive a dirt road that is running in the same
direction, parallel to the bitumen road that would
take us to the same desired location.
Our biggest Mr Toyota experience was when we
got stuck on a dirt track in the Pilliga. We were
faced with farm fences, overgrown paddocks and
had nowhere to turn around, but Mr Toyota still
told us to continue along the road. But what road?
