THE PARKES ELVIS FESTIVAL WILL TAKE
OVER THE COUNTRY NEW SOUTH WALES
TOWN IN JANUARY.
The festival, which is held in Parkes in the
second week of January annually to coincide
with the King’s birthday, returns from
January 8-12, centring on the theme of 1966
Elvis film Frankie and Johnny. a little more action on the AARTC Cooke
Park Main Stage, with over 50 performers
entertaining the tens of thousands of people
expected to attend the festival – the 2019
festival attracted over 27,000 visitors.
“This year’s program is bigger and better
than ever. There’s a bunch of phenomenal
free events, family focused activities, outdoor
markets, and special performances sure to
blow audiences away,” festival director Cathy
Treasure said. “A major highlight of this year’s
program is the eclectic array of free events on
offer.” Additionally, Australian music legend Joe
Camilleri will be inducted to the Parkes Elvis
Festival Wall of Fame. To celebrate this
achievement, Joe will perform with The Black
Sorrows after the ceremony at the Parkes
Services Club.
