HOT WATER ANODE
Your caravan’s hot water service may have a
sacrificial anode, which is there to protect the
heater from rusting. Through electrolysis, the
anode rod ‘sacrifices’ itself to protect exposed
steel when the tank is filled with water.
It is an easy DIY task that can and should be
done as required.
JOCKEY WHEEL
A jockey wheel requires little maintenance.
There’s not much that can go wrong with
them. But they will eventually require some
attention. You have two choices: have a crack
at pulling it apart – replacing the ball bearing
and race (if equipped and requires
replacement) and regreasing – or simply
replacing it. A standard 8in Al-Ko jockey
wheel is not particularly expensive.
