THREE EASY TIPS
Terry Glover sent us three fantastic RV
modifications. The first is a checkerplate
shield that he made to protect his van’s gas
regulator. He has also utilised an old spare
tyre cover to create protective sleeves for the
gas lines on the drawbar.

Now, Terry says that the doorstep on his van
is exposed to road debris, such as small rocks
and stones, which damage the step and
cowling. To solve this problem, he made a
rubber mudflap.
Finally, Terry installed two coat hooks in his
tunnel boot to store the awning handle, jack
handle and washer extension pole. This keeps
them out of the way and easy to find.

LET THERE BE LIGHT!
Chris and Jan Cronin have come up with a
handy way to maximise the amount of natural
light in their pop-top.
When it rained, they found they had to close
the windows in the pop-top canvas.

plastic screen in place.
The rear opening has been left as it was.
“I had seen on a website where a person
suggested cutting some clear, semi-rigid
plastic material and, from inside the van,
placing it between the plastic wall opening
and the flyscreen,” Chris wrote.
“My wife suggested we take the flyscreen off
and replace it with a clear plastic panel with a
velcro edge all the way around and matching
the size of existing flywire screen, so that it
covered the opening and thus gave us
additional light.”
