FACTORY TOUR
For me , a flying tour of the Crusader factory highlighted the systems and procedures this company has in place .
Danny explained that Crusader started about 25 years ago ; however , it changed markedly in 2016 when the Mawson Group got involved . While the Mawson Group is an investment bank , it has helped implement procedures that have raised the bar on manufacturing , while solid financial planning is providing an excellent base for the company to work with and continue to grow .
From my perspective , with a history in the automotive side of things , I see what Crusader is doing as much more vehicle-like in its systems and checks , from the chassis to the final product leaving the factory . Add to that qualified tradespeople encouraged to take pride in their job at every stage and it really does keep the build standard high .
Danny pointed out that Crusader put on 18 people during covid-19 , taking the team to over 130 people . With the new range , plus the popular sellers , Danny expects they might even be increasing the staff levels further into 2021 .
I have to admit that I was impressed with the quality of workmanship I saw in the factory . The Gladiator was certainly neat inside and out , with very little to pick on , which is not surprising when you see how tightly scrutinised every van that leaves the factory is .
I think this cute Gladiator is going to be a good seller for the spec and the price point . It looks as though it will be very capable !
