DOMETIC INCREASES OUTDOOR MARKET FOOTPRINT
Dometic , one of the largest suppliers to the Australian RV market , has acquired numerous companies in recent months .
Enerdrive , a Brisbane-based provided of mobile power products including solar panels , batteries and chargers , is among the acquisitions . Enerdrive has 45 employees and more than 1200 dealers around the country .
“ The market demand for sustainable and effective off-grid mobile power solutions is rapidly increasing as more and more people spend time outdoors using a vehicle or boat as the base ,” Dometic said . “ The acquisition of Enerdrive broadens Dometic ’ s offering and distribution network in the Pacific region . The acquisition also increases Dometic ’ s presence and knowhow in the fast-growing market for mobile solar power solutions .”
To increase its presence , knowhow and distribution network for mobile power products and solutions in North America , Dometic has also acquired a company called Zamp Solar , which is based in Oregon and has about 65 employees .
Zamp Solar ’ s products include solar panels , charge controllers , power boxes and various other solar kits .
On May 20 , Dometic also entered into an agreement to acquire Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters , an international provider of products for the outdoor market headquartered in South Africa .
Juan Vargues , president and CEO of Dometic , said the acquisition was aimed at strengthening Dometic ’ s offerings and distribution network in the outdoor market .
Dometic is headquartered in Stockholm , Sweden , and employs about 6500 people worldwide , with net sales of more than AU $ 2.3 billion .
