When it comes to restoring old cars and caravans , Andrew Phillips doesn ’ t do things by halves . His shed , filled with vintage vans and classic vehicles , each painstakingly brought back to its former glory , is proof of his dedication .
Andrew ’ s latest restoration project , which we ’ ve been following , only further demonstrates his passion . This 1965 Coronet Princess now looks , in almost every detail , how it did when it rolled out of the factory about 56 years ago .
Andrew owns and runs The RV Repair Centre in Bayswater North , Vic , and until mid-2020 , he also owned Coronet Caravans . He ’ s been in and around Coronets for decades .
When he bought this van about six years ago , it was in a state of serious disrepair . Countless hours spent carefully studying old advertising material and anything else he could get his hands on showed him the original layout and spec of the van .
Previous owners , after all , had made considerable changes to this old Princess . Among the changes , the original single-bed configuration had been altered to a double-bed setup . Andrew stripped all that out and rebuilt the single bed bases to original spec , including the cabinet between the two beds .
