Stability was very good with a van behind ; the new 300 Series might be a bit lighter , but feels as solid on the road as the 200 Series did . No yawing , and only some pitching on rough roads , which a WDH would certainly help address .
SUMMING UP
Does a smaller engine mean the 300 Series is worse at towing than the 200 ? A resounding no . In fact , the new model is even better , especially where performance is concerned .
Towing fuel consumption could be better , but we did throw performance testing and photography into the mix , so easy cruising would no doubt result in better figures .
Towing stability and ride quality were also very good . The only real negatives are the near six-figure asking price and slightly reduced towing fuel range with the 300 ’ s 28L smaller fuel tank .
