RV OPINION
BYE-BYE BORDERS
Obviously the borders aren ’ t actually going to disappear . They existed pre-covid and will continue to exist . But the important thing is that in the relatively near future , we won ’ t be dealing with the snap closing of borders , travel exemptions and domestic travel restrictions that change on a weekly or even daily basis .
While there are still travel restrictions in place in some states , it ’ s becoming increasingly easier to make travel plans , with more definite options and destinations available to us .
In the coming year , we ’ ll gradually be able to travel freely around all of Australia and , as a result , the freedom of the RV lifestyle has never looked so appealing . Want to do the Big Lap ? No problem . Thinking of driving from the top of Australia to the bottom ? Let ’ s go !
VAN-LIFE ETIQUETTE
The good news about life after covid is that , for the most part , our routines on the road will mostly go back to normal . Travelling in your campervan , motorhome or caravan has always meant having an awareness of the etiquettes expected in the RV community . Even pre-covid , it was important to be aware of what ’ s expected of you as a camper , such as parking up a comfortable distance from your neighbour and not invading their space , or making sure you don ’ t leave any rubbish behind when you leave a camp site .
Now , in a post-covid world there ’ s likely a few more items that will be added to the camping etiquette list . More people will likely be aware of the spread of bacteria and viruses , which means it ’ ll be even more crucial that we ’ re mindful of our hygiene practices . Be sure to clean up after yourself after using the toilet , showers and sinks .
