I love a good gadget . I ’ m talking about those little bits and pieces that make life on the road a little easier , more comfortable or just plain fun .
I ’ ve been mucking around with quite a few lately , one of which is in this issue : the ReverseMate . This is a system of high-vis markers which , when used correctly , should make backing onto site easier , especially for solo travellers .
I ’ ve also had a tinker with a new caravan alarm system , a wireless reversing camera , and I have a new clothesline invention sitting in my garage awaiting my attention . This clothesline is designed to attach to the barrels of manual roll-out awnings , either on the outside or under the awning fabric , depending on the weather .
The biggest ‘ gadget ' of all that has come my way , though , is a new Isuzu D-MAX ute , which we ’ ll be employing over the next six months as our official tow vehicle , and I ’ m sure we ’ ll have plenty to report about its performance over the coming issues . Suffice it to say , though , that I ’ m one happy caravanner right now .
