RV FEATURE

No region is more synonymous with camping , fishing , hiking , four-wheel-driving and adventure than the High Country . This 4000ha slice of north-east Victoria features national parks , the highest mountains in the state , snow resorts , and a history that includes gold , cattlemen and bushrangers .
Dargo is a tiny settlement about 350km east of Melbourne . Nestled in the foothills of the Dargo High Plains , it is the entry point for the Alpine National Park , Mitchell River NP and Avon Wilderness Park .
With its permanent population of about 150 people , Dargo nonetheless has its share of traffic – mostly four-wheel-drivers and campers in search of a bush escape . The town , after all , is the only place to fill-up the fuel tank and restock supplies .
