LASHINGS OF HISTORY
TAKING IN THE TASMAN PENINSULA …
Week four of our two-month tour of Tasmania and we are headed to the Tasman Peninsula , with a history-rich road trip from Hobart to Port Arthur . Best known for the impressive Port Arthur Historic Site , one of Tasmania ' s five World Heritage-Listed convict sites , the Tasman Peninsula is abundant with spectacular coastlines , soaring sea cliffs , rare geological formations , stunning beaches and a fantastic emerging foodie scene .
We chose to base ourselves at the NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park , which is nestled amongst 40 acres
82 \ of pristine bushland . The park is moments from beautiful Stewart Bay and only a short drive from some of the best gourmet and wildlife experiences the peninsula has to offer .
A must-visit is the UNESCO World Heritage-Listed Port Arthur Historic Site . Set on 100 acres of beautifully manicured gardens and lawns , the incredibly wellpreserved penal colony is alive with history and fascinating stories of the men , women and children who once called Port Arthur home .
