FREEDOM CAMP OF THE MONTH
Far from boring , crossing the famed Nullarbor is an adventure to savour . So if you can help it , don ' t rush it !
From Norseman , it is 1100km to Ceduna in South Australia . Expect straight road , the world ' s longest golf course , a variety of roadhouses with campgrounds and caravan parks , plus whale watching when in season . And there is plenty of freedom camping opportunities . Some sites even have mouth-dropping Great Australian Bight views !
The 10k Peg Parking Area is 10km into South Australia from the Western Australian border . Camps Australia Wide traveller Michael Lennon said that although he had crossed the Nullarbor 16 times , when he stayed at this site , it was the first time he stayed at a site for more than one night .
Traveling from WA , the rain did not stop , but they woke up in the 10k Peg Parking Area to clear skies and the place to themselves . It was an easy decision to stay another night , chill out and enjoy a fire and views .
This pet-friendly rest area is suitable for all vehicles , including big rigs . There are picnic tables and some shade , but please leave no trace . Wet weather access may be difficult and it can get windy .
