When it comes to green sources of power , solar panels are an obvious choice , especially in Australia where we have abundant sunlight all year . Solar panel technology has improved and now even small panels can produce usable power . We are going to be testing out the range of portable USB solar panels from BEAM Outback to see what they can offer the average caravanner .
It never ceases to amaze me just how much we have come to rely on our portable electronic devices . Everything we use seems to be powered by a USB-rechargeable battery . Mobile phones and tablets are really just the beginning . We also have devices like insect zappers , boom boxes , torches , cameras and even emergency communications units that are all powered by a USBrechargeable battery .
