Built in 1885 , the pub was once a Cobb & Co staging post . I recommend you visit here and the dino next door before your museum tour . You ' ll find out why !
We loved our night here . After chatting with other travellers at the pub , we shared stories and happy hour back at camp , meeting families and couples en route to the Big Red Bash in Birdsville . The sunset was perfect !
I ’ ve dragged the family to plenty of museums over the years . But if you do come all the way to Eromanga , you have to meet Cooper ( or at least Cooper ’ s thighbone ) – he is Australia ’ s largest dinosaur exhibit . Hands down , it was the best museum experience we ’ ve had .
Once you are back in town , stop into the dinosaur sculptures in the Knot-A-Saurus Park – it is on the right just before the Hall . Take a photo in front of the sauropod and her two babies . Lengths of 100m twisted aluminium were used to create them !
There ' s a picnic shelter , and gardens are planned . Next time , I ' ll check out the Chinese garden heritage site and an early 1900s Chinese well .
You can also camp at Eromanga Motel ( Van Park ) or stay in their accommodation . There is a cafe and tourist information available here , too .

Look up Queensland site 785 in Camps 11 or site 1163 in Camps Pendium in the Queensland book ( the new box set has state by state books ). If you have the Camps Australia Wide app , simply go to the map or list and search for the site name . You ' ll find the free parking area on Deacon Street , on the west side of town .
