YOUR RVs
When your family is on the road often , it ’ s important to find the right van for you and your needs . For the Padula family , it was a 19ft Bright by Great Alpine Caravans .
We caught up with Joe and Antonella Padula , along with their extended family , at Waters Edge Holiday Park in Lakes Entrance , Vic , where they gave us the grand tour of their pride and joy .
PARKED UP IN LAKES ENTRANCE
The 19ft Bright is the family ’ s first van . It ’ s framed up in 18mm lightweight plywood and clad with composite aluminium . Joe and Antonella tow the Bright with a 2017 Mitsubishi Triton , which they say has proven to be a perfect tow vehicle for their van .
Their first trip with the van was to Paradise Valley Campground , an idyllic spot in Victoria ’ s Gippsland region – if you ’ ve never been , put it on your list .
“ So far , we ’ re enjoying the outdoor life ,” Joe said .
The family travelled from Morwell , Vic , to Lakes Entrance . It was their second trip away with their new Great Alpine Bright , and plugged into a powered site , they all definitely looked the part of happy holidaymakers .
Inside , the van is complete with a north-south bed up front surrounded by lockers wardrobes . There ’ s a nearside kitchen with full oven , griller and cooktop , and a 24in flatscreen TV . There ’ s a 184L Thetford three-way fridge , a 20L microwave , and an excellent amount of storage space , too . Interestingly , the offside dinette is a ‘ bench ’ style , rather than being L-shaped or comprised of two opposing lounges , but the 240V and 12V points here haven ’ t been forgotten .
