CRY FOR HELP WITH IPHONE 14

Apple ’ s Emergency SOS via Satellite feature has been launched in Australia – and the benefits for RVers are genuine .
As you know , any mobile phone becomes about as useful as a brick once outside of major cities and regional centres . This has always posed a challenge : how to call for help in the event of an emergency . The announcement that Emergency SOS via Satellite is now available in Australia for the iPhone 14 range is potentially game-changing for a lot of people – and it ’ s free for two years as of Monday May 15 or from when you activate a new iPhone 14 .
The feature is not available on earlier iPhones because Emergency SOS via Satellite is more than just a software update – it ’ s hardware , too .
If there is no mobile reception , the phone will prompt you to send an ‘ Emergency Text via Satellite ’. Tapping a button will activate the service and connect you to a satellite .
The user will be prompted to ‘ Report Emergency ’. The user will also be asked if they want their emergency contacts to be notified .
Once the phone has connected with a satellite , the user ’ s messages will be connected to emergency services .
No , you won ’ t be able to use this feature to make idle chit-chat with friends and family , but should the worst happen , it might just save your life . Regardless of what you think of iPhones , there ’ s no denying that this is useful technology for Australian RVers .
