Surfing at Moonee Beach , both off the point and the beach breaks ( wetsuits are a must for us Queenslanders ).
Whale Watching : Walk the headland and watch the whales breaching as they head north for the winter .
Stand-Up Paddle Boarding and kayaking along Moonee Creek .
Coffee : Located at Moonee Beach Reserve , I Bean There has great coffee , friendly service and it is located right next to the water .
A Night Out : Dine in and watch the footy at Moonee Beach Tavern . It even has a tequila bar !
Shopping : Head to Moonee Marketplace for all your supplies .
A sunrise walk : Grab your camera and your walking shoes and enjoy a sunrise headland walk .
Fishing : Pump some yabbies at low tide , grab a fishing rod and have a fish in Moonee Creek or off the rocks on the headland , or at Moonee Beach .
Bird-watching : Keep your binoculars out for spotting whitebellied sea eagles , ospreys and brahminy kites .
Family-friendly outings : Check out the Forest Sky Walk and Big Banana Fun Park .
Interesting fact : At Moonee Beach Nature Reserve , the rare and unique thrive . Endangered bats roost in seaside caves , pockets of coastal rainforest thrive and pandanus trees flourish . Threatened and uncommon plant communities grow on the exposed headlands of Bare Bluff and the confidently named Look At Me Now headland .
