Do I have a weight distribution hitch ? The answer is definitely ‘ yes ’. The reason goes back to my early days as a driver trainer , and the company I worked for used Hayman Reese hitches on its vehicles . Why did this company use that specific hitch ? They were seen as being better engineered and better designed than anything else on the market at that time .
Vehicles have changed a lot in the 30 or so years since , and now some vehicle manufacturers advise not to use a WDH because of the inbuilt computer-driven suspension system . These systems allow for the change in weight and adjust the suspension accordingly . This advice should be followed .
