Never have the words of one song played so frequently in my mind than this winter . “ It ’ s been a long , cold , lonely winter ,” wrote George Harrison in his beautiful ballad performed by The Beatles . As the southern states finally , mercifully , emerged from a particularly chilly winter , I felt like I finally understood what that particular Traveling Wilbury was talking about .

My first order of business : packing up my gear and getting out of Dodge for a few days . I ’ ve been frequently checking the weather and by the time you read this , I ’ ll have spent three days laying on a beach , each night capped by a beer or two around the campfire .

Meanwhile , this issue is packed with useful reading . Marty Ledwich has been trying Starlink for the last few months and shares his thoughts , while David Sajfar reckons he ’ s found the Rolls Royce of camping furniture . I was introduced to a relatively new caravan antenna , the VanTenna , that seems quite promising and , this month , I wanted to share what I ’ ve learned about it . In truth , it ’ s probably the antenna I ’ d choose were I in the process of building a new van .
