TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
We woke up in the morning to a glorious sunrise , with waves crashing on the beach . Unfortunately , the beach next to the holiday park isn ’ t dog-friendly . But to resolve that , we put Twyla ( our cavoodle ) in our new K9 backpack so we could get our feet wet and experience the water together .
After a light breakfast in our van , we checked out some local petfriendly tourist attractions : the Kiama Lighthouse , and the Kiama ‘ Big Blowhole ’. These attractions are only minutes from town and within walking distance if you ’ re up for some exercise .
Locals advised us that Kiama also has a second blowhole , locally referred to as the ‘ Little Blowhole ’. This one was indeed smaller than the other , but just as spectacular . These attractions were great photo opportunities , where you await the water to splash up through the blowhole .
We took a stroll down the main street for some retail therapy and visited the local art gallery . While out in town , we picked up some souvenirs from The Collective Kiama , which is an indoor space of local small businesses selling their wares under one roof . We were pleased to find that the space was pet-friendly , too .
Kiama has plenty of maritime history for visitors to discover and with everything so close , the coastal town made for a relaxing seaside getaway .
