A TRANS AM AND A FIRST KISS
We headed to Jared ’ s parents house in Warrandyte , a short drive away . It is a beautiful area sprinkled with tall gum trees and centred around the Yarra River .
Back at the house where we shared our first kiss in the backyard pool , we managed to convince Jared ’ s dad , Rod , to lend us his prized Pontiac Trans Am for a spin through town . The price ? A shout at lunch at the Stonehouse Café ! We used to spend our downtime between training sessions at the Stonehouse Café and with family nearby , it became a meeting point for many family occasions .
What better way to get around than in Jared ' s dad ' s Trans Am ?
On our way back Jared could not resist some dessert at the Warrandyte Berry Farm . Chocolatecovered strawberries , fresh strawberries , jam doughnuts and strawberry milkshakes almost made for a second lunch . Strawberry sauce , jams and preserves were bought as treats for the kids who we had left with their grandparents on the Gold Coast .
From Warrandyte , we travelled in the motorhome out to the Lilydale Pine Hill Caravan Park to set-up for the night . Setting up the Windsor Flinders was a breeze . We had cold beverages in hand enjoying the sunset over the trees in no time .
First up the next day we had something really cool to do to ignite our inner child : Puffing Billy ! The Puffing Billy railway has been in operation since 1900 and is run by 300 volunteers . You can experience the century old tradition every day of the year except Christmas Day .
