While you ’ re here
• Hook-a-Barra is a must if you ’ ve ever wanted to catch a barramundi . Talk about resilient ! This barramundi farm and tourist fishing venture lost 80 per cent of its stock ( thousands of fish ) when the Wonga property was flooded . But they called in neighbours to help save the day by catching barra and returning them to their salt-water ponds .
While they had to restock the farm side of the business with fingerlings , the fishing venture is already up and running . If you ’ re angling ( pun intended ) for a great day , this is it . My 4kg catch is proof that anyone can get lucky here . They also boast the freshest fish and chip meals in TNQ .
