ONE BIG HILLTOP FAMILY !

Sometimes when you purchase a new caravan , you ’ re buying more than just a home on wheels . This point was driven home when I visited the Hilltop National Gathering , which was held at the magnificent Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park , a waterside holiday park north of Melbourne that every caravanner would love .
In early March , more than 130 Hilltop caravans were set-up on the shore and surrounds of Lake Nagambie . It was a sea of Hothams , Feathertops , Grampians and Jindabynes , just some of the popular models in the Hilltop range . It equated to more than 300 ‘ Hilltopians ’, all gathered in the one place to share their experiences , ideas and – above all – fellowship .
As I wandered about , chatting to various Hilltop owners , one thing became abundantly clear : when you buy a Hilltop , you become part of a very large family .
“ We are absolutely gobsmacked by the number of vans here ,” Ruth McMahon , who helped organise the event , said during the gathering ’ s official welcoming proceedings .
Referring to floods that devastated the region in 2022 , Ruth said , “ So for us to be here , and for the park to fit us all in , they ’ ve done an amazing job .”
