TURN DOWN YOUR SHOWER !

Good article on power and water savings ( GoRV # 87 ). We have free-camped on and off for the last six years of full time travel . Water has been our issue for longterm free-camping . We have caravan tanks , portable tanks and a creek pump . One suggestion is to run your shower at half strength . It ’ s a tap , after all – no need to have it on full strength or buy a misting or pressure-reducing shower head ! Keep up the good work – GoRV is the best mag in the industry .

A THIRD REASON TO SLOW DOWN !

Last issue , Max talked about slow drivers on the freeway . He said there could only be two reasons why these drivers were travelling so slowly .

Well , Max , I believe that you are wrong ! I believe there may be three and possibly more reasons , but No . 3 is that the driver may have had mechanical problems that caused the driver to travel at this slow speed . In this case , the driver is travelling at a speed that he deems safe ! ( The alternative is ) that he pulls up on the freeway , completely blocking a lane . Just a thought .

Hi Laurie , you ’ re right : mechanical problems , tyre blowouts , etc ., would indeed be an excellent reason for a person towing a caravan to slow right down . However , let ’ s hope that the driver would pull into the emergency lane ( if available ) or take other appropriate , legal and safe measures to get their van and vehicle out of fast-moving traffic as quickly as possible .
