CRUISEMASTER GETS ABS

Want your caravan to be fitted with ABS ? Cruisemaster has you covered . All new Cruisemaster suspension systems featuring electric brake drums now come as either ‘ ABS Enabled ’ or ‘ ABS Compatible ’.
Cruisemaster ’ s ABS Enabled system means the suspension is equipped with the hardware required for anti-lock braking .
The Cruismaster ABS Compatible system means customers can buy the hardware from Cruisemaster at a later point to give their van an ABS upgrade .
ABS uses advanced wheel speed sensors to monitor the precise movement of each wheel . It takes these readings up to 1000 times per second and , using intelligent algorithms , can tell exactly what type and braking force is required .
The ABS-compatible suspension has a unique weld ring , an ABScompatible electric backing plate and ABS-suitable drum . Additional hardware is required to make these suspension types compatible with an ABS system , but the supplied hardware would not need to be changed .
The ' Enabled ' Cruisemaster suspension system comes complete will all the hardware required to connect to an ABS system . In addition to the base hardware , this includes the tone ring , positioner and wheel speed sensor .
" It has been a rigorous development and testing journey , both in-house and in collaboration with Bosch ,” Cruisemaster ’ s engineering director , Andrew Goddard , told GoRV . “ We have taken this system from the uncontrolled conditions of outback Australia via our Remote Area Testing program through to the more controlled environment of the Australian Automotive Research Centre . Both Bosch and ourselves identified the need for this to be a capable system in all-terrain conditions to best meet the needs of our customers , this system being one of the only in its class to be covered for full offroad conditions .”
