TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
When we visit Mt Franklin , we occasionally do the rim walk . It ’ s a highlight for our cavoodle , Twyla , as she loves sniffing everything along the way . There are a couple of tracks that lead you to the walk and it ’ s suitable for most fitness levels .
Before heading to Mt Franklin , or sometimes on the way home , we stop at the Chocolate Mill , which is only a few minutes ’ drive away . We usually spoil ourselves with a spot of chocolate shopping in the in-house store . Adam especially likes the white hot chocolate with a slice of hummingbird cake . The Mill has an array of chocolates you can purchase , made on the premises in its chocolate factory .
There ' s always time for a coffee when you ' re on holiday .
What could be better than a stew cooked in a camp oven ?
It was Mexican-inspired jaffles cooked over the campfire for lunch .
Mt . Franklin is a unique camping spot in Victoria ; we haven ’ t come across anything quite like it . Every time we drive up and into the caldera , I ’ m instantly relaxed , making it one of our favourite free camping sites .
