LETTERS FROM THE ROAD
ANOTHER TRAGIC TALE
I read your excellent article on the Tango Caravans collapse ( GoRV # 91 ) and would like to add my view as our daughter and son-inlaw have lost $ 82,000 of their hard-earned money , which they saved 15 years for .
They purchased a new van that was on the Tango Caravans lot . They paid their deposit and were then harassed relentlessly to pay the final amount . They weren ' t comfortable doing this until they had a date for handover .
They were given a handover date and transferred the money the day before handover . A short while after the transfer , they received a phone call to say there was a problem with the van ’ s solar and that they wanted to repair it before they picked it up .
Our daughter and son-in-law haven ' t gone public with their situation but I felt I had to tell their story anonymously .
There is no chance at this stage of them getting any money back . They are currently camping in our 30-year-old camper trailer with their twin sons , who are 5 , when they should have been in their dream caravan which they paid $ 82,000 for .
I enjoy reading your online magazine and felt I had to contact you .

+ TANGO COLLAPSE
That was the last time they heard from anyone from Tango Caravans . My daughter made constant phone calls and emails , and then received the ( same ) reply everyone got : sick employees , under-staffed , etc .
