2 . CONQUEROR
Never heard of Conqueror ? Rest assured , this manufacturer has some genuine runs on the board . With its South African heritage , all Conqueror campers have an almost militaristic appearance .
Naturally , there are quite a few options to choose from , but the UEV-565 caught my eye because it offered an excellent balance of size and liveability .
The UEV-565 has a slide-out kitchen with an induction cooktop . You can choose to have anywhere from 200Ah to 900Ah of lithium batteries , and there ’ s 500W of solar on the roof . Customers can opt for a 2000W or 3000W inverter .
This hybrid pop-top rides on airbag suspension and is built atop a hot-dipped-galvanised chassis . The frame is a unique aluminium ‘ exo-skeleton ’ with aluminium composite panels for the walls and roof .
The new X-Country Mad Max by Crusader Caravans .
All Conquerors offer a healthy dose of lateral thinking in order to provide as much space and as many features as possible inside a relatively compact space , and will go anywhere your 4WD can . Well and truly worth a look .
All Conqueror campers are almost militaristic in both form and function .
3 . CRUSADER CARAVANS
In September , Crusader launched new models for 2025 . One of those was the 19ft 5in X-Country Mad Max . In recent years , Crusader moved to full fibreglass sandwich panel construction and , it ’ s fair to say , this company ’ s vans are getting better all the time . The X-Country Mad Max is just one example of Crusader ’ s emphasis on continual improvement .
It uses Crusader ’ s EcoLite composite fibreglass panels , which includes XPS structural foam . Each panel is a one-piece construction , of course . The van has a full Victron battery management system , induction cooking , a seamless interior and a distinctive exterior shape .
