THE JOCKEY BLOCK
You ’ ve just pulled up for the day and it ’ s time to unhitch . But there ’ s a problem : the ground is very soft and the jockey wheel wants to sink . That ’ s where the Black Jack Trailer Jack Jockey Block comes in .
Rated to 6000kg , the Jockey Block will provide a firm foundation for your jockey wheel every time . It even has a moulded ‘ cradle ’ where the jockey wheel can rest . The other beaut thing : it provides 150mm of height , so you won ’ t need to crank the jockey wheel handle anywhere near as much as you probably normally do . In fact , it ’ s said to save up to 40 cranks . If you have a particularly high-riding van that uses a traditional jockey wheel , you ’ re probably also used to carrying offcuts of timber in order to account for the lack of travel in the shaft of the jockey wheel – we ’ ve all done that before .
It suits traditional jockey wheels , Black Jack Trailer Jacks , scissor jacks and more .
I have to admit that the Jockey Block , which costs $ 89 , seems durable . Better yet , unlike blocks of wood , it will resist dirt , grime and oil , and it ’ s easy to clean .
Yes , you can certainly keep using those offcuts of timber … or you can upgrade to the 2.5kg Jockey Block and never look back .
