In 2022 , the Winter family sold their home on Queensland ’ s Sunshine Coast . The plan : travel Australia indefinitely . Using part of the proceeds from the sale of their home , they bought a van . It served the family of five well . They saw Queensland , South Australia and the Northern Territory . Eventually , they decided to upgrade to a Tango . And , like others who trusted the word of Tango proprietor Sarah Horter and staff , their lives have since been pulled apart .

Worse : according to mum of three Ali Winter , Tango Caravans liquidator Pitcher Partners has informed them that there is no chance they ’ ll get their money back . That ’ s nearly $ 80,000 – the full price of their caravan – gone .
TRUSTING TANGO
In early 2024 , the Winters decided they wanted a smaller van that had a better off-grid system than the Malibu they were travelling in . This would allow them to do more remote caravanning , especially when Ali ’ s husband met up with them again – he ’ s a FIFO worker in South Australia on a two-week on / off roster .
