As another year draws to a close , I ’ d like to wish you a very merry Christmas and a safe New Year . Wherever your travels take you , I hope you ’ re spending them with someone special .

This year brought many terrific new caravans to market , a number of which we ’ re featuring in this issue as part of our annual feature , GoRV ’ s Greatest Vans . Out of all the vans we ’ ve reviewed this year , these are my personal favourites . I am keenly aware that not everyone will agree , but suffice it to say that if money was no object , these would be among the vans I ’ d choose .

This year , however , was also marked by tragedy . I ' m referring to the Tango nightmare , which we ’ ve detailed over the last few issues . The scale of the devastation was immense , and I know you join me in wishing the victims of this tragedy all the best .

This issue , we ’ re also welcoming a new contributor , Mark Allen , a traveller whose spent more time in the bush than most . A line from his first piece , in this issue , really stuck out to me : when travelling , it ’ s not about being perfect , but being perfectly capable of learning from others and your mistakes . Those are , perhaps , the wisest words I ’ ve read in some time . Welcome , Mark .
