JAYCO TOUR !

The journey began in 1975 . Fifty years ago , Gerry Ryan and a team of eight set themselves up in a small shed in Cranbourne , Vic , a nondescript suburb south-east of Melbourne . There , they began work on the camper trailer that would change everything .

With its pull-out beds either end , and an internal styling that was very much of its time , the essential design of the JayDove is still in use today .

By the end of that first year , Ryan had moved his operation to Springvale , Vic , and had built 526 camper trailers . It was a very good start to what would become Australia ’ s largest RV manufacturer . By the way , that first JayDove sold for $ 2395 .

At a special event at Jayco ’ s stateof-the-art manufacturing facility – an impressive series of factories on 50 acres in Dandenong , Vic – to celebrate Jayco ’ s 50th anniversary and to provide a sneak peak at the 2025 range , Ryan reminisced on those early days .
